[Exclusive] Smelling farts can save life!

A+ A-
People have known fart as the gas substance that is being secreted by the body for elimination process of the body.

Fat could be disgusting because of its disgusting smell. But did you know that there is more to it than just being the smelly substance that comes out of the body? This unpleasant odor is said to have positive effects to the body especially when it is being smelled.

The study out of the University of Exeter in the UK found that the hydrogen sulfide gas found in rotten eggs and flatulence could reduce the risk of cancer, heart attack, strokes, arthritis, and dementia.

Researcher Dr Mark Wood said: “Although hydrogen sulfide is well known as a pungent, foul-smelling gas in rotten eggs and flatulence, it is naturally produced in the body.

“It could in fact be a healthcare hero with significant implications for future therapies for a variety of diseases.”

Fellow researcher Professor Matt Whiteman said the gas stimulates a part of cells which helps us to breathe and produce energy.

He said: “When cells become stressed by disease, they draw in enzymes to generate minute quantities of hydrogen sulfide.

“This allows cells to live.

“If this doesn’t happen, the cells die and lose the ability to regulate survival and control inflammation.”

Or, since scientists have yet to confirm that smelling farts is as valuable as delivering their compounds straight to cells, at least remember to stop and appreciate that hydrogen sulfide isn't all bad.
