Former Senator and Presidential Candidate Miriam Defensor Santiago died at the age of 71 succumbed to lung cancer as her husband Atty Jun Santiago said, September 29.

"She died peacefully in her sleep this morning," Santiago said.

The former lawmaker inform the public for being ill in 2014 suffering from stage 4 lung cancer.
