Thursday, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre said that they have witnesses to verify that there is a drug money that was personally be in receipt of Sen. Leila De Lima coming from the drug lords that has an operation inside New Bilibid Prison.
The two spectator, Aguirre said, will be shown at the House investigations on the increase of illegal drug at New Bilibid Prison. Also claimed that Sen. De Lima allegedly received P5 million by just one delivery in her residence in Parañaque City.
Aguirre said in a phone interview, “Isang talaan (delivery) lang ‘yan. May kasunod pa.”
He also added that the 10 to 12 witnesses that is also composed of inmates, officials and agents of the National Bureau of Investigation, without deviation links De Lima to the illegal drug trade, particularly at the NBP. In which De Lima supervises when she was still the secretary of the Department of Justice last June 2010 up to October 2015.
Aguirre said that inmates that are high in profile will then appear in the House investigation and will be then relocated to another detention for safety purposes.
“Magugulat ka. Di ba sinasabi ko na sa inyo na bumabaha ang information against her at nakuha na ang kanilang affidavit,” he said.
He also gave a bad press about De Lima for she has used the Senate for manifesting witnesses that relates to President Rodrigo Duterte to vigilante killings, to divert the attention of the public so that her issues in regards of being involved to illegal drug trades will fade out.
In a separate statement, Aguirre said, “This is a futile attempt to divert the public's attention against the parties who are responsible for drugs in the BuCor (Bureau of Corrections which supervises the NBP). Desperate times call for desperate measures and somebody is really desperate!”
It was claimed before Pre. Duterte that a former driver of Sen. Leila De Lima was the one who is collecting all the drug money from the drug lords.
Reports then came out weeks later, claiming that P88.5 million was deposited at Banco De Oro in five bank accounts, whom those accounts are assertedly linked to De Lima.
Jonathan “Jong” Caranto and Edna “Bogs” Obuyes, the two DOJ receiving clerks gave their affidavits claiming that don’t own the accounts that are still under investigation.
