The statement claimed that Acaban has been blackmailing Matthew Ivan and Christian Lloyd which urged the two to feel so much anger and made them decide to commit the crime. In addition, the statements said that they do not really have the intention to put an end in Acaban’s life and supposedly, they will just threaten him the way he is threatening Matthew and Christian but the public official tried to exchange a fight with the two. This urged the two to murder him completely.
According to news report of 24 Oras, the victim was killed by strangulation but before he lost his breath he was hit by a car multiple times which caused him to break his ribs and gained tire marks all over his body. This claim was proved by the post as Matthew Ivan narrated in it the details of how they murdered Acaban.
Police reports also showed that the suspects robbed Acaban and it was also mentioned in the said post. According to the post, the suspects only think that the money they will rob from Acaban will help them support their needs once they run away from the crime. In addition, it also showed how Matthew felt guilty for his friend and for his parents who raised him.

“But they should also know on the first place that Killing is not the solution to their problem. They have taken life and that's so painful for the people that loves the person that they have killed. They deserve a major lesson. And I think that they should pay for this. Kawawa naman kasi yung pamilya ng naiwan. At mas kawawa yung namatay! They're lucky kasi ang dapat naman talaga. When you killed, you'll be killed too. Kaso hinde eh! We all hope that this would serve as a wake up call for the youth to really think before goin' into situation that could eventually destroy their lives.” commented by Jap Sabtal.
“ Murder is murder, killing is killing .Every murderer is subject to face the consequences in change of breaching the law concerning it. Yes, majority of the filipinos have no knowledge of the law, but, we have common sense to obey it regardless of our status in life, position, and even possessions. Let it be done according to what the rule of law says. !” Lucas Jobert said
“The real story ba? The other side of the story? John Eric Torres said.
Meanwhile, some people chose to leave the decision in the hands of the law so that real justice would prevail.
