A year after the launch of the Tap-And-Go Beep Cards, many passengers already affirmed that it has been successful in its primary purpose of making commuting more convenient for the riding public.
This unified ticketing system has lessened the burdens and hassles of riding MRT 3, LRT 1 and 2 and selected buses. Reloading stations are also available at malls and shopping centers. Although some issues were encountered during its first implementation, reports said that the riding public has already get along with the new automated system. Passengers affirmed that the best thing about this automated fare system is that it saves them time and effort thus giving them convenience which they really need.
In connection to this, the President and CEO of AF Payment Inc., the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) handling the automated ticketing system, expressed their plans of making convenience stores as additional reloading stations. Moreover, they are also planning to innovate the Beep Cards, enabling it to be used in different transactions such as in fast food chains and grocery stores.
The PPP aim to make these Tap-and-Go Beep Cards be the way for the Philippines to cope up with the world-class transport system.
