Exclusive - Former DILG Alunan’s German Friend To Local And Foreign media: Shame on you, and feel free to leave the country

Over the past few months, President Rodrigo Duterte had to make a lot of tough decisions for the country. He made these decisions based on what he along with his trusted expert advisers deem best for the country. 

However, these decisions may not have been very popular with many locals and foreigners alike.

People believe that a lot of media outlets have misreported President Duterte’s words and actions many times. This is what the friend of former Department of Interior and Local Government Rafael Alunan III said. 

This friend of his is a German national, and he was described as a “sterling human being” throughout the years that he has known him.

The letter is about how both local and foreign media have misrepresented the words and decisions of President Duterte, saying that they have sensationalized the headlines just for profit.

He also called out the local media to check their alliances and to know where they stand as Filipinos because some have obvious intentions to destroy the president’s name for money and power's sake.

He also slammed the foreign media who constantly attack and blemish the name of the president, saying that they are all free to leave the country and should just stop complaining. 

The letter also emphasized on that many Filipinos don’t do that to other countries and that they should feel shame for their arrogance towards the President. 

The German national ended his rant by explaining that the country is still under development and that it takes time. He closed with, “Feel free to leave the country if you are not happy with it, nobody is asking you to stay."
