It was in the late 90's when NoliDe Castro's "Magandang Gabi Bayan" started to air. Whenever October comes to a close and November rolls in, people indulge themselves with scary stories and myths about demons, 'tikbalangs', white lady, 'dwende', 'aswang', and ghosts.
This year, ABS-CBN is reportedly bringing back 'Kabayan' to a very similar show entitled "Kababalaghan" airing just in time for All Saints Day, October 30, right after "Banana Sundae" and another episode after "Gandang Gabi Vice".
Lets look back at some of the scariest halloween stories featured on "Magandang Gabi Bayan":
1. Campus Horror - UPLB
This MGB story features University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), which is one of the oldest school campuses in the Philippines. The school was already around since before the second world war, and a part of the campus was even used as a concentration camp during the war. This segment featured a student as he narrated his paranormal experience in the Baker Memorial Hall of UPLB.
2. Multo sa Dormitoryo
Students have an unexplainable force that attracts ghosts, for some reasons.
This feature talks about the scary experiences of students living in a dormitory and how a lady in white haunts them during the night.

3. Multo sa Manila Film Center
Back in 1981, The Marcoses had it built and finished in roughly a year.
The building has been the subject of controversies because of an accident that occured during the final stages of its construction in 1981. The scaffolding collapsed leaving at least 169 workers buried under quick-drying wet cement. Some of those unfortunate construction workers were never retrieved from the accident. Because of this, many say that the ghost of those who died during the accident still haunt the film center till this day.
4. Lahing Aswang
'Aswangs' are the most popular Filipino creatures for the longest time.
This episode features a woman talking about her experience of seeing an aswang, only to find out that she actually knew who the aswang was.
In Filipino neighborhoods, especially in provinces, rumors about your neighbor being associated with 'aswangs' are commonplace. But in this case though, it was not just a rumor.
The woman said she actually saw it flying around in the middle of the night.

5. Bahay sa Tanay
It is not your typical haunted house horror story.
In this segment, the victim was being followed around the house by ghosts.
The caretaker’s nightmare includes stories of how various ghosts in this particular house in Tanay, Rizal terrorized her. Turns out, the house actually has a dark past involving the murder for the previous caretakers.
6. Kababalaghan sa Aklan
Apparently, Boracay is just one of the things Aklan is known for.
The province actually still has a number of stories that can give you chills. Majority of Aklan is still very rural, so it’s no surprise that you’ll hear stories about 'manananggals' and 'aswangs' lurking in the area.

7. White Lady ng Loakan
Aside from being the summer capital of the Philippines, word is that Baguio is also a haunted place.
Loakan road in Baguio is known to be haunted by a white lady, who is said to be a beautiful youth who was raped in the area. However, there’s actually more to her than what the tragic story says.
8. Mga Kaluluwang Gala sa GSIS Village
Yes, haunted houses are not surprising, but a haunted village?
GSIS village in San Pedro Laguna is known for a number of strange and unexplainable sightings.

9. Multo sa Video
This segment features a ghost or some spirit caught in film.
One of the sports coordinator took a video of the neighborhood kids playing basketball, when all of the sudden, a figure of a child runs into the frame. No one could explain who this child was and no one could remember seeing the child during the event. The video was even sent to a professional to check its legitimacy and help explain who or what that figure was.
10. Demonyo sa Sementeryo
This is a creppy segment that features how one person asked to have a statue of the devil, instead of the usual angels, placed on top of his grave.
