Exclusive - Netizen Provides Proof That Duterte’s Diplomatic Relations Is Better Than PNoy Regarding The Scarborough Dispute!

President Rodrigo Duterte has continued to be in the light of controversy as he continuously expresses his plans on the country’s foreign relations.

Many spectators questioned him regarding his US separation remarks and renewing Chinese diplomatic ties.

One of the results of Duterte’s talks with Chinese officials included the recent news about the fishermen in Pangasinan who were able to fish in the disputed Scarborough Shoal for the first time in four years since the Philippines-China standoff.

Many netizens took this as proof that Duterte’s diplomatic strategy is better than the past administration’s. One of these netizens is Adolfo Mortera who recognized Duterte’s ability in handling the dispute peacefully. 

Mortera said that the Filipino fishermen are the real winners of this agreement for they are now able to sustain themselves again after years of being banned from the area.

He also mentioned Duterte’s strategy of settling the issue created by the Aquino administration within four months.

“Although PRRD and China's PM discussed the Scarborough shoal, there was no joint statement after their meeting, according to reports.

No statement "allowing" Filipino fishermen access to the Scarborough due to objection from the Philippine panel.

But there was tacit agreement between the two leaders.

We now know several fishermen have cast their nets in the shoal today. Success!

And most importantly, the Chinese Coast guards are no longer around to block or chase them.

This could be the best modus vivendi under present circumstances.

China, without saying a word, recognizes Philippine rights over these waters, and that they are within our exclusive economic zone.

President Duterte didn't press the issue.

China saw it as a window to save face, and left Scarborough quietly and discreetly.

It's a win-win. But the biggest winners are our fishermen.

That's how I see it, and I pray it stays that way.
