Exclusive - PINOY PRIDE: Filipino Inventor Turns Plastic Into Gasoline, Kerosene, and Diesel. AMAZING!

Plastic takes a hundred years to break down. As a result, it comprises about 3/4 of the world's garbage and continues to destroy the environment. Approximately eight million metric tons of plastic still enters the Earth's ocean every year despite these efforts and so scientists all over the world are striving to find a better solution to reducing waste.

Well, the answer to this problem might have been discovered by a Filipino inventor! Not only was he able to break down plastic but he was also able to turn it into diesel, gasoline and kerosene! The procedure is being credited to Jayme Navarro while the machine used is designed by his engineer children. According to him, the discovery was an accident. Starting with an idea of turning the plastic back into their virgin form, he was able to turn into something more useful instead. Currently, they collect plastic from landfills in Rodriguez, Rizal. The materials go through a conveyor belt and are broken down into smaller pieces until it's powdered. Then the plastic are melted in a reactor and is converted to gasoline, kerosene and diesel, through the process of distillation.

Although the discovery still has a long way to go before making it to the market, the Department of Science and Technology are excited for the discovery. Meanwhile, the Navarro family has already secured a patent for it.
