On Monday night, police arrested the actor Mark Anthony Fernandez because of alleged possession of around one kilo of marijuana.
According to reports by Chief Insp. Francisco Guevara Jr., the former matinee idol tried to slip past a police checkpoint at around 8:30 p.m.
Fernandez was caught with a kilo of marijuana, estimating to a street value of P15,000.
Currently, he is detained at the Station 6 of the Angeles City Police until his a drug test on Tuesday.
Fernandez's uncle, Robin Padilla, released a statement via his Facebook page thanking the PNP for the safe arrest of his nephew:
Fernandez is a son of the late Rudy Fernandez with former Parañaque City councilor and actress Alma Moreno.
