Netizens went crazy over a TV Patrol report video about the rape-slay case of an 8-year old girl in Cavite that appeared to be a "ghost" of the victim on tape.

In the video that was uploaded October 6 on Facebook, a dark figure that resembled a girl can be seen crouching along the pathway to the crime scene at around the 30-second mark of the video. 

Instantly, the video report hit over 2 million views and 65,000 shares. 

Netizens were divided on whether the video actually showed a creepy ghost or if it was just a product of editing or camera trick.

However, it was clarified by ABS-CBN that the mysterious figure found in the video was not the ghost of the 8-year old rape victim, but was actually a witness to the rape-slay crime. 

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, the unidentified witness testified she was changing her clothes under a nearby bridge when she heard a crying sound at the time of the rape.

"It seemed like a girl was crying but I was too afraid to go and see because I was alone," she said in Filipino.

The woman caught on video told investigators that she saw several pieces of clothing where the crime was possibly committed.

Reports say that the body of the rape-slay victim was found floating near the Las Piñas-Bacoor boundary. Two of her rapists are already in jail while two others were killed by cops after supposedly stealing an official's gun while they were inside the police mobile.
