Exclusive - WARNING: 'Lawin' Expected To Be Stronger According To JTWC


TyphoonLawin’ or internationally known as ‘Haima’ is now a Super Typhoon according to the U.S. Naval  Observatory’s Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) who gave a warning last Tuesday night. 

‘Lawin’ is expected to gain more strength as said by the U.S. weather agency before it makes its landfall over the Northern part of the Philippines.

PAGASA PH’s weather bureau said on its latest advisory last Tuesday night said that it has yet to raise Lawin to a super typhoon status whereas there are some differences compared to JTWC.

According to PAGASA, Lawin strengthens over the past 24 hours and has the maximum sustained winds of 195 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of 240 kph.

Its movement is west-northwest at 25kph.
