[Amazing] 25 Items You’ll Want To Look Out For This Black Friday
Ah Black Friday. The ironic Holiday of buying stuff after just spending a day giving thanks for what you already have. Still, if you live in the US, and you do shop over the Holiday season, you’d be kind of foolish to not buy things on sale. Even if you don’t have loved ones to buy for, if you’ve been saving up for a big item, say a TV, Black Friday or the sales around that time are absolutely the time to buy one.
Are you ready? Gather your shopping lists and keep these tips in mind to make for a more pleasant experience: Please don’t cut your family time, take small children who hate stores or crowds, go without a budget, a list, and a plan, or expect a good parking spot. Also remember to be kind to store staff, be kind to fellow shoppers, be aware of who’s around you, take your cart back to the cart corral, have payment ready when approaching the checkout, and keep your conversations with store staff upbeat and brief.
To help you make your list and a plan, here are 25 Items You’ll Want To Look Out For This Black Friday.
By the way, if you’d like to know how the term “Black Friday” came about and other interesting Black Friday facts, also check out our list on 25 Things You Should Know Before Shopping On Black Friday.
Clothing
Believe it or not, clothing is actually a really good item to purchase on Black Friday. Almost every major retailer has sales going on, and theoretically, they’ll still have their Christmas clothing lines in stock, which tend to dwindle the closer you to get Christmas. Target, for example, had 40% off nearly all clothing in store on Black Friday 2015 and are expected to again this year. Old Navy always has amazing sales, and if you’re looking for higher end finery, Nordstrom Rack, White House Black Market, Kenneth Cole, and Last Call should not be skipped.
This awesome flyer is a quad copter that’s also a camera. It comes with a headset and comes with a memory card that will allow it to record and store up to 20 minutes of flight footage, which is pretty cool. But please, use with parental supervision. It retails for between $94 and $130, depending on where you’re shopping, which means you’ll probably be able to find on sale for around $100 or less come Black Friday, and possibly not at all long after that.
This Power Wheel is really cool, and I would like one for adults please. This toy is on the Toys R Us Hot 15 list, which means they expect to sell out of it. Many retailers release a Top Toys List with various names, but they all basically show us the coolest toys, and also the toys that they expect to sell out of, particularly when it gets down to a top 15. The Wild Thing comes with 4 speed settings that parents control with a top speed of 5 mph. It’s got big wheels so kiddos can go “off road” and is controlled by two joysticks which allow it to turn 360, and comes in “boy” colors or “girl” colors (this is still a thing? Apparently). It retails for between $300-$400.
The Num Noms Lipgloss Truck will appeal to the same demographic as Shopkins and will probably sell out. It’s a pretty pastel truck that allows the child to make their own flavored lip glosses. It retails for around $33 and is already on the “hot toy list” for Walmart, Amazon, and Toys R Us, which means they expect to sell out of it, and it will either be on sale, or eligible for some sales on Black Friday.
Fabric, Sewing, and Craft Supplies
If you have a crafty person to shop for, many of their useful and necessary supplies are a HUGE deal on Black Friday. Joann’s, Hobby Lobby, Michael’s Crafts, and others all have amazing sales. Joann Fabrics almost always has a sale in Singer Sewing machines and all of the mentioned stores have sales on craft supplies and paper crafting machines on Black Friday.
Lego has a Holiday catalog come out ever year, and if you wait until the week before Christmas for a specific set, you very likely won’t be able to find it. This year includes new Minecraft sets, The Disney Castle (pictured here), Ghostbusters, and more. While it’s iffy that they’ll go on sale on Black Friday, stores should at least have them in stock. Also, lego.com has a “Brick” Friday sale online every year that has a lot of sets 50% off and usually has free shipping.
DVD's, Video Games, and CD's
These items are ALWAYS on huge sale on Black Friday, so if you have stockings to stuff or need White Elephant work gifts, go ahead and grab some. The big movies coming to DVD later this year are: The Purge: Election Year, The Legend Of Tarzan (live action), Alice: Through The Looking Glass, Independence Day Resurgence. and for little ones, Finding Dory, Kubo and the Two String, and The BFG.
This Ultra T Rex from Fisher Price technically was around last Black Friday, but it’s already on a few “hot toys” lists this year, including Walmart’s, and was difficult to find around mid-December last year. It retails for around $80. He’s huge, and he can walk forward and roar, and is also a tree house for the imagine next figures who come with him. His eyes light up, he fires weapons out of his mouth, and at full height is 2 1/2 feet tall. It’s marketed towards boys, but every female preschooler or kindergarten I’ve known would also be highly amused by this because girls like to Roar, too.
Washers and Dryers
These household necessities can actually be REALLY GREAT deals on Black Friday. But don’t go looking at you local home improvement store – look at big box electronic stores like Best Buy and HHGreg, and look for sets.
This isn’t the only item that’s not a toy. Keep reading for more practical household Black Friday gift ideas!
The SELFIE Mic and Music Set Set basically turns your iphone or ipod touch into a kareoke machine, WITH a selfie stick, so you can watch yourself or make music videos. This is a very amusing gift for the pop music loving tween in your life, and retails for around $20; however, it’s already on most “hot toys” lists, so expect it to be difficult to find, if not sell out, after Black Friday.
Game Console Bundles
Game Console Bundles are a HUGE deal on Black Friday. Particularly since there were no big console releases within the last few months, expect to find either discounts, or things like the Xbox One or WiiU packaged with several games for the price of the console alone. The bundle deals are a great value, and they pop up not just on Black Friday, but randomly between Black Friday and Christmas. HOWEVER, whenever you see on you want, buy it because they usually sell out.
My Mini MixieQ’s are tiny little plastic dolls that have clothes and accessories and…hair… you can change. The appeal of Polly Pocket, but with more options. There are even little playsets with rooms you can buy.
Laptops
Laptops are another thing to look out for on Black Friday, and considering even Target sells laptops, this year we’re expecting a lot of good deals. Best Buy sold MacBooks at up to $150 off last year, which is a huge discount for an apple product. The best deals aren’t generally released on laptops until October or November, so keep an eye out and start googling for the best deals after Halloween.
Necessary for any Pokemon player, this device is a plastic light up ring that your child wears around their wrist/forearm, and syncs with Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon for the Nintendo 3DS. The ring comes with light up crystals that can be rearranged. Additional crystals in different colors can be purchased to unlock different sounds on the Z-ring because the best Pokemon is More Pokemon.
These fabulous slow-cookers are always super cheap on Black Friday. If you know a newly married couple, someone who’s recently moved out of their parents house, or your mom/wife/family cook/busy person hasn’t gotten a new crock pot in years, go ahead and grab them one. While not the most exciting gift ever, they’re absolutely among the most useful.

FurReal Friends – a toy line that brings your children fuzzy cute robot pets – has released a DRAGON. Torch, My Blazin’ Dragon retails for around $70, and his mouth lights up and he “breathes fire” (a harmless mist colored by the lights in his mouth). This thing is seriously adorable! And cool! And can I have one in my 30’s, maybe please?
Yeah, don’t expect to find many of these around past early to mid-December. Grab one on Black Friday; he’s already on Amazon, Toys r Us, and Walmart’s Black Friday toy lists. He come with a little marshmallow on a stick you can “roast” with his fire! So cute.
Kitchenaid Stand Mixers
Something every baker will love, these items go on sale on Black Friday, and this year is expected to be a good one for deals – in department stores as well as big box stores. This is definitely one of those things where if you’ve been saving up to make a big purchase for yourself, Black Friday is the time to treat yourself and spend the cash. On Black Friday 2015, Khols had the 5qt KitchenAid Artisan series stand mixer on sale for $350, and it normally retails for $500. Other good places to look are Macy’s and Amazon, and Target (though they only carry the smaller models). Also, it should be noted that the coveted KitchenAid stand mixer comes in about a bazillion colors now, so if you hesitate, you’re likely to end up with a much smaller selection.
There’s a new toy called Hatchimals Draggles, and it looks like a dragon and penguin made a new animal. They’re absolutely adorable; they literally HATCH out of their eggs once you hold them and love them for about half an hour, and if The Great Furby Wars of 1998 taught us anything, it’s that they’ll probably sell out. Each Draggle retails for around $60 and comes concealed in an egg, so you get one of two colors, based on the specks on the outside of the egg (there are 4 colors in total). Target online is currently sold out and toys r us.com already has an order limit up.
Home Improvement Tools
Dads and DIY-ing moms aren’t left behind on Black Friday – Home Depot.com already has a Black Friday page up and running, and Lowe’s has a “coming soon” Black Friday page up. A lot of tool companies put out special deals or kits for these events and the Holiday Season. Last year, ACE Hardware had a DeWalt drill set on sale for $50 off. Stores offer coupons, bundle deals, and rebates, but the good stuff always sells out quickly. So know what the people you love want, and make a stop at the home improvement store (you can also pick up a Christmas tree while you’re there).
Small humans love Shopkins. We’re not sure why. I’m pretty sure no one over the age of 25 understands what a Shopkins exactly is, but these little dolls – particularly the little humanoid Chef Club dolls and Shopkins packs that were recently released – will probably be sold out closer to Christmas and go on sale nearly everywhere you buy toys on Black Friday. Even if they aren’t on sale, if you plan on getting some, pick them up then because if your niece wants Peppa-Mint, not Jessicake, guess which one’s going to be nearly impossible to find?
COFFEE! On Black Friday, Keruigs and K-cup packs go on sale. Some K-cup packs go for less than $10, so if you are or love a coffee person, this is one to look out for. The Keurig K250 comes in fun colors that if you wait too long, there’s almost no chance you’ll get the color you want. It retails for $130, but several websites are already showing it’ll be on sale for $99 or less, and some stores – like Khol’s – will offer store cash or rebates when buying one. If you want a fancier machine though, including the pod based Nespresso machines, never fear, they’ll be on sale, too.
The Fischer Price Code-a-Pillar is already being seen everywhere. It’s cute; it’s clever; and it builds foundation skills that a child born after 2010 will realistically need later in life. Geared at ages 3-6, the Code-a-Pillar teaches children how to take apart the Code-a-Pillar’s body segments and rearrange them to make a sequence, and kids LOVE this thing. It also lights up and makes happy noises. It retails for around $50, and additional “segment” packs are available for $15 though Amazon has already had it on sale since it’s June release. It’s very unlikely to be found on store shelves after mid-December, but most big box and online stores will at least have it in stock (and probably on sale) on Black Friday.
TV's
If you need or want a new TV, or THE NEWEST TV, Black Friday is your day to buy in retail stores. Also, do your research and figure out if you wouldn’t mind a low-end big TV. (Last year, Target had 55” off-brand TV’s for less than $300.)
NERF N-Strike Elite Terrasouct Remote Control Drone Blaster
Every few years, NERF gets a toy on the “you can’t find this two weeks before Christmas” list. (The author has a husband in his 30’s who collects NERF. The struggle is real, y’all.)
This year, it looks like THE NERF TOY is going to be NERF N-Strike Elite Terrasouct Remote Control Drone Blaster (they pay their naming department by the word), which retails for around $200. This is basically a small tank with a NERF gun mounted on top with a remote control. It’s also a Toys R Us exclusive, so when they’re out, your options will be ebay and craigslist. There’s also the NERF N-Strike Mega Mastodon Blaster which is available at target, Amazon, WalMart and other big box stores and retails for around $60. If you have a Nerf lover in your family, figure out which one they want, and buy them early as it’s likely both will be on sale on Black Friday and unavailable not long after.
Apple Products
Target ALWAYS has amazing deals on Apple Products on Black Friday and randomly between Black Friday and Christmas, often including bundle deals (usually, the latest iPad product and a $50-$150 target gift card, which is an AMAZING deal). This year, we expect the new iPhone 7 and Apple Watches to be big ticket items, and Target will likely have them in stock and on sale. Also look at Best Buy and HHGreg, as they sometimes have really good sales on iProducts as well.
