Ever get the feeling that the song you’re jamming or rocking out to on your way to work sounds familiar? In today’s music industry, there are original ideas, and then there are remakes. Some of us are old enough that we remember the original, while some are too young to know any better. (Just start asking a few college freshmen who Kurt Cobain is. Chances are, they’re not thinking of Nirvana, and there are kids out there who think that Paul McCartney should be thankful to the rapper who recently made his song popular. I know…it makes me cringe too.)

Regardless of whether or not you recognize the song as a remake or not, we decided to pull 25 that are worthy of honorable mention from a few different genres.
