Exclusive - DLSU Professor On Bato Probe: 'Whatever Respect I Have For Conchita Carpio-Morales Vanished'

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa yet again faces another issue after Senator Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao treated him to an all-expense paid trip to Las Vegas, Nevada to witness the senator's boxing match.

Political analyst and Political Science Professor at De La Salle University Antonio Contreras however questions Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales' stance on the issue on a post on his Facebook page.

"Whatever respect I have for Conchita Carpio-Morales vanished!

I am not expecting her not to investigate Bato. She should," says the prominent professor.

Although Contreras stands for the probe against the PNP Chief, he questioned why the probe against Senator Leila De Lima is taking its time despite many testimonies and evidences presented against her.

"But I curse her stance towards De Lima.

And I curse her for ignoring that Leni Robredo used a private helicopter for her travel once to Bicol," he added.

The all-expense paid trip of Dela Rosa was deemed to be against the code of conduct for public officials basing on Republic Act No. 6713, the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees) and Presidential Decree No. 46, making it punishable for public officials and employees to receive, and for private persons to give, gifts on any occasion, including Christmas.

However, Dela Rosa bravely claimed on Friday that he welcomes the investigation.
