Despite the bad weather, thousands of rallyists protesting against the burial of former President Marcos have arrived at Luneta this afternoon.
Some of the groups which participated in the rally include Kilusang Mangbubukid ng Pilipinas, ACT Teachers Partylist, and GABRIELA.
The youth group Anakbayan staged a demonstration at Mendiola to castigate President Rodrigo Duterte for allowing Marcos to be buried as a hero.
“Today youth and students and people from all walks of life unite to hold the Duterte regime accountable for giving a hero’s burial to a dictator, plunderer, and human rights violator. Today we link arms to denounce Duterte’s unholy alliance with the Marcoses,” said Anakbayan National Chairperson Vencer Crisostomo.
However, another group of young people calling themselves Duterte Youth have also arrived at Luneta to express support for the President and his decision. The group, calling themselves Duterte Youth, are about a hundred. Their leader, Ronald Cardema, said that he expects their group to swell to 200.
