Exclusive - Pacquiao Slams CIDG On Issuance Of Search Warrant: 'Kung Involved Kayo Sa Droga, Pasensyahan Tayo, Hindi Ninyo Ako Kasama.'

After defeating Jesse Vargas in the Welterweight division via unanimous decision, he is back in conquering important matters in the country as a senator. He recently lectured the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on a Senate committee hearing on Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa's death. He asked why the CIDG issued another search warrant for the mayor when he was already detained at the Baybay Sub-Provincial Jail because of getting linked to drugs.

“Ginagamit itong search warrant because of the right of the people to be secured in right to privacy, property, and persons,”

“Wala na’tong right to privacy kasi nakakulong siya. Hindi na niya kailangan mag-apply ng search warrant. No need kasi nakakulong na siya ... nasa government facility na siya,”

It can be recalled that initial reports rather revealed that a search warrant was issued around 4 am on Espinosa, last November 05.

"Kahit simpleng tao, maiisip niya, mahirap. Ako suportado ko kayo sa fight against illegal drugs pero kung may pinoprotektahan kayo o involved kayo sa droga, pasensyahan tayo, hindi ninyo ako kasama,”

“Kasi kahinahinala. First time, ngayon ko lang narinig na kukuha ng warrant sa kulungan [para] sa nakakulong eh anytime pwede kausapin yung warden,”

Leo Laraga, Chief Inspector who led the CIDG who raided Espinosa said that the jail guards were uncooperative. However, provincial jail warden Homobono Bardillon said that the CIDG didn't coordinate with them.

After hearing this, Pacquiao slammed CIDG once more saying: “‘Yung mga paliwanag ninyo, napakababaw para paniwalaan. Can you imagine yung parang natatakot magsalita yung kapwa niyong pulis, mga jail guards, pati provincial warden, parang may tinatago na gustong sabihin, sabihin ang katotohanan,”

“Tumataas yung blood pressure ko…Ayoko naman atakihin lahat ng PNP,”

Espinosa and jailmate Raul Yap were both killed and shot inside their jail. CIDG operatives claim that Espinosa shot at them first and that they issued a search warrant for possession of drugs and firearm inside the jail cell.
