Exclusive - President Duterte Personally Seeks Justice For The Death of 2-Year-Old John Earl After His Mother Returns Home!

Erlinda Cagalitan, a grieving mother, finally arrived home to Davao City on Saturday to bury her son and mourn for him after the 2-year-old was allegedly beaten to death by his guardians, Sarah Jane Alcain and her husband Ronilo.

The couple mauled the toddler because he peed his pants. Enraged by the child’s accidental urination, they beat him and caused injuries which eventually led to the child’s death. They have been arrested and are currently facing charges for child abuse.

Erlinda works as a cashier in Bahrain. She refused to engage in any interviews, as she wanted privacy to grieve over her recent loss. Her relatives stood by beside her and called for justice.

President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday said this is not a unique case, as children of OFWs entrusted to relatives and strangers suffer through the same fate.

"Marami iyan, 'yung mga anak nila iniiwan lang sa mga kapatid, pinsan and they work their ass to death. Pagdating dito, napurnada ang pagod nila either because their children are not par with their expectations na makatapos, malulong sa droga. These are the things we have to balance," he said.

Duterte also reassured the family that he will discuss the matter with the Department of Social Welfare and Development after he returns from his APEC Summit trip in Lima, Peru
