A second year criminology student from General Santos City named Asrap B. Lisman was arrested during a buy-bust operation held by Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force Group (RAIDSOTG) at Quezon Ave., Brgy. North for allegedly selling shabu worth Php 59,000.
During the police operation, a sachet of shabu and 500 peso marked bills were confiscated from Lisman. RAIDSOTG found another 9 sachets of illegal drugs on the suspect's person.
Lisman, on the other hand, denied the accusations, saying that his friend, who he called John Isagani, was the one who gave him the sachets and promised him money as payment for his tuition. He even said that he didn't know that the sachets contained illegal drugs.
P/Supt. Maximo Sebastian, Chief of RAIDSOTG said, "So very alarming ito gawa ng kailangan nating protektahan ang mga estudyante natin sa mga drug pushers."
According to Kag. Genesan Saulon, Committee of Peace, Brgy. North, their area has been the center of the illegal drug trade usually coming in from Cotobato.
Lisman will face criminal cases for the selling and possession of illegal drugs as stated under sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165.
Despite the police reports, some are claiming this is another case of 'Tanim Shabu'. In this modus, police officers secretly slide illegal substances or paraphernalia into a person's belongings which is later used as evidence against them.
