Exclusive - Ex-Bank Manager Arrested by NBI After Stealing 90 Million Pesos!

A former bank manager was arrested yesterday, December 2, after hiding from the police for two years.

The National Bureau of Investigation’s authorities nabbed the man who stole P90 million from the bank he used to work for.

Carlos Tanengge, a 52-year old man, was cornered in his house in Fairview, Quezon City. The arresting officers told reporters that the man even had the audacity to bribe them.

Information from the NBI said that the man has been long in the wanted list of the High Court after he managed to get a loan application approved worth P90-million for a supposed high-value client.
The Supreme Court announced him guilty of estafa and falsification of documents.

In an interview with GMA News, NBI Anti-Fraud Division chief Atty. Irvin Garcia said, “Inilabas niya ‘yung pera through checks.”

In his defense, the former branch manager said that he was just scammed in investing the money in a Forex pyramiding scam.

Tanengge was sentenced to be in jail for 20 years.
