Yesterday, December 15, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas announced that it will start releasing new bills with President Rodrigo Duterte's signature next week. They noted that the bills will be the first batch to carry the President's signature since Duterte assumed office.
Governor Amando M. Tetangco Jr. made the announcement, saying: "The currency notes with the signature of the President: the notes are ready and the first batch is expected to be released next week,"
"After completing approval and release procedures, next week meron na. It will be released to the banks," he added.
Duterte took his oath last June 30 as the 16th President of the Philippines.
