Exclusive - Forbes Magazine Lists President Duterte As One of The Most Powerful People In The World

President Rodrigo Duterte has just been listed as the 70th entry in Forbes Magazine's World's Most Powerful People.
The list was published online on December 14, 2016. This is the president's first time on the Forbes list, along with 11 other new names.
President Duterte's profile read:
"The former mayor of Davao City was elected president of the Philippines in May 2016 on the strength of a campaign that promised the swift execution of drug users and other criminals, and his war on crime has already resulted in the killing of thousands of people. In October, Duterte announced a "separation" from a century-long strategic alliance with United States, and plans to realign the Philippines towards China. Duterte's tendency to say what he thinks, no matter how raw, also keeps him in the headlines: He's referred to U.S. President Barack Obama as a "son of a whore" and used homophobic slurs to describe political opponents. In December the country's independently elected vice president, Leni Robredo, resigned an additional position which she'd been appointed to by Duterte. The VP cited "major differences in principles and values" with the President, and promised to head up a new opposition party."
Forbes Magazine's David M. Ewalt wrote this disclamer on his online post:
"Any ranking of the world's most powerful people is going to be subjective, so we don't pretend ours [Forbes] is definitive. It's meant to be the beginning of a conversation, not the final word."
Russian President Vladimir Putin tops the Forbes List as number one.
In 2nd place is US President-elect Donald Trump.
In 3rd place is German Chancellor Angela Merkel
In 4th place Chinese President Xi Jinping is in 4th,
In 5th place and Pope Francis is in 5th.
