Hollywood legend Debbie Reynolds, known for her role in the 1950's classic "Singing In The Rain", has passed away at the age of 84 after she suffered a stroke. She died the day after her daughter Carrie Fisher, known for her iconic role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars franchise, passed away.
Her son Todd Fisher said that Debbie suffered a number of strokes this year, but the passing of her daughter is "too much to bear" for her. She was rushed to the nearest hospital at the Beverly Hills after the two were making funeral plans for Carrie.
Her son also said that fifteen minutes before she had a stroke, Debbie said: "I miss her so much, I want to be with Carrie."
Reynolds also made headlines in Hollywood when her former husband Eddie Fisher divorced her for Elizabeth Taylor.
Besides Singing In The Rain, she also played iconic roles in movies "Tammy and the Bachelor" and "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" in which she earned her only Oscar nomination. Last year, she got her Honorary Oscar.
The movie "Postcards from the Edge" starring Meryl Streep and Shirley MacLaine was based on Carrie's semi-autobiographical book which was inspired by her relationship with her mother Debbie.
