Following the issue of a riff with her father, Dennis Padilla, Julia Barretto stated publicly that she finally is reconciling with her father. In an interview, she said, "Everything is so much better than it was before. Baby steps talaga 'yan,"
"He's still my father at the end of the day, siyempre mahal ko pa rin yung tatay ko (of course, I still love my father),"
The 19-year-old actress also revealed that she is planning to surprise her father with a character she played in the movie "Vice & Kath & James" which is a kind of funny role, a role which her father has mastered as a renowned comedian. The movie is one of 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entries.
According to her, her father didn't know this yet. "No, kasi gusto ko siya i-surprise!" she said.
"Gusto ko makita niya yung finished product, tapos doon na siya magbigay ng comments niya right after," she added.
