To get into the spirit of Christmas, LRMC also announced that they are giving free rides to the elderly and the disabled Filipino.
According to LRMC Corporate Communications and Customer Relations Head Rochelle Gamboa, “All Concessionary Beep Card (CBC) holders, comprised mainly of senior citizens and PWDs, who are travelling with at least two family members, will get to ride LRT-1 for free on all weekends and holidays of December to January 8, 2017.”
Gamboa also said that the LRMC will be hosting a mini-concert at the Doroteo Jose station, an effort to further bring forth the Christmas spirit. "It's a way for them to have family bonding over the weekends,” she explained.
Throughout the 20-day period, there will be additional northbound trains from Baclaran every 10 minutes after 9:30 p.m. and every 15 minutes after 10 p.m. on weekdays.
The last train leaves Baclaran at 11 p.m. This is a total of 7 additional trips for LRT-1.
To get the free ride, CBC holders must ride with at least two family members. If travelling alone, they can present their beep cards to the tellers and ask them to activate their free ride.
