he Walk of Fame induction ceremony held at the Eastwood City Central Plaza on December 1 has recognized 50 new celebrities and awarded them their own stars.
The induction ceremony held this year is the very first time that founder and star-maker German “Kuya Germs” Moreno was not present due to his passing on January this year from a cardiac arrest.
The ceremony also made an audio-visual presentation dedicated to the late Kuya Germs. Unfortunately, during the presentation, a technical glitch occurred which caused it to stop at an old photo of a young Kuya Germs.
Actresses Liza Soberano and Barbie Forteza were among the youngest to receive their stars for the movie category this year.
"Nervous. I’m excited, it feels like it’s such a big thing. Sayang lang wala si Kuya Germs. I got to meet him before once but we really haven’t gotten the opportunity to speak. I don’t know, it feels different that he’s not here. But I’m still happy and I’m very grateful to be given a star," shared Liza.
Kapuso star Barbie Forteza said, "Two weeks ago, nalaman ko siya through social media. Nalaman ko sa Twitter, tinag ako, siyempre kinonfirm ko kung totoo, tumawag ako sa Artist Center. Totoo nga daw and I’m very honored and grateful to be standing with all those veteran actors and actresses. Isa na naman 'tong achievement for me."
