Blood didn't seem thicker than water for actor Patrick Garcia after he failed to attend the First Holy Communion of his son with actress Jennylyn Mercado, Jazz.

The actress posted an Instagram photo on Thursday showing Jazz walking along his teacher as he receives his first communion.

On the same date, Patrick chose to be in Cebu to witness the wedding of his showbiz friends Kaye Abad and Paul Jake Castillo.

Many netizens said they lost their respect for the actor upon learning Patrick's priorities. They said that he is missing out on his son's special moments.

Some also pointed out that it should've been Patrick walking beside Jazz, ot his teacher, for it is his duty as a father.

However, Jennylyn refused to give her reaction over Patrick's absence.
