Exclusive - Photos That Show Possible Missing DSWD Relief Goods For Typhoon Nina Victims in Bicol Go Viral!

Netizens have raised concerns over what appear to be missing relief goods meant for Typhoon Nina victims in Bicol.

It seems that proper procedure to distribute the goods from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) was not followed. 

According to the DSWD Region V Facebook page, each family was supposed to receive a box of relief goods. Each box would have 6 kilos of rice, 4 cans of corned beef, 4 cans of sardines and 6 sachets of instant coffee. 

However, a photo of a particular barangay shows its residents carrying plastic bags instead of boxes of relief goods. 

The photos were posted on the Pinoy Online Watchers Facebook page. The plastic bags contained only two kilos of rice and two cans of sardines. 

So far it hasn't been confirmed where and when these photographs were taken. Some reports say they were taken at Barangay Sugcad, Polangui, Albay.

If proven true, then these photos prove that relief goods are being repackaged into smaller, separate portions. 

While nothing has been proven yet, netizens should be vigilant in spotting corruption and fake news. Hopefully, DSWD Secretary Judy M. Taguiwalo will look into these matters.
