Exclusive - Sen. Cayetano Slams VP Leni: 'Stop Campaigning and thinking of The Presidency'

After months of silence from Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, who has typically been very vocal about his support for President Duterte, he finally released a statement on his Facebook page directed towards Vice President Leni Robredo.

Recently, VP Robredo announced her resignation from the HUDCC Secretary after receiving a text from Cabinet Secretary Leoncio Evasco that said the President wanted her to desist from attending cabinet meetings.

Afterwards, the VP then challenged Sen. Cayetano to speak out against the President's decision to allow the burial of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos in the Libingan ng mga Bayani despite his loyalty to Duterte.

Cayetano was against the burial of the late Dictator at the LNMB and was quoted last July saying “that is something [President Duterte and I] don’t see eye to eye with.”

Instead of answering Robredo’s challenge, he slammed her and assured her that he is doing the best that he can. He challenged the Vice President and urged her to seek justice for the SAF44, “tanim bala” victims, and LP personalities involved in drugs.

He ended the post saying: "There's much more, but in a nutshell I challenge you to stop campaigning and thinking of The Presidency and help attract investments, build infrastructure, create jobs and redistribute wealth in our country.”

“Let's do it together." He added.
