After the warm message that the Prime Minister of Singapore gave to President Duterte, reports are coming in saying the Singaporean government decided to name a new orchid after him. According to the reports, the President is set to visit the Singapore Botanic Gardens on Saturday, December 16, where an orchid will be officially named after him.
He is currently in Singapore for a two-day state visit after flying to Cambodia for another state visit. Earlier today, December 15, he had a state banquet hosted by Singapore's President Tony Tan Ken Yam held at the Istana Banquet Hall.
Duterte continues to make headlines in the west after the New York Times published an article containing photographs of the daily executions in the country. Duterte stubbornly refuses to back down in his bloody war on drugs.
However, Duterte claims he never encouraged killings, as he believes in God and in karma. He shortly contradicted himself during another speech when he said that he used to kill drug suspects himself back in Davao in order to encourage the police to do the same.
