It was in the year 2013 when former President Noynoy Aquino's attention was given to a crack on the flagpole at Rizal Park.

The administration resorted to repairing it for more or less than P10 Million pesos.

Upon the reporting of the news, TV reporter Noli De Castro questioned the project.

"Hindi kaya ho nagtatapon kayo ng pera ng bayan?," he said.

Netizens expressed disappointment over the said episode, noting that P 10 Million is too much to repair a single flagpole.
