Duterte's Kitchen has been earning different positive reactions not just among Filipinos but also internationally. It was launched in October and located in Cubao across Farmers Plaza. Since its opening, it started feeding street children. In their first two months, they gave the kids either 'lugaw' or 'champorado'. But donations keep coming, and now they are now serving full meals to over 40 kids a day.
Inspired by this, some volunteers in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental also opened their very own "Kusina ni Rody Para sa Pobre". They prepared spaghetti and arroz caldo for homeless people last Christmas eve. Since they don't have any budget to rent a place, they bring the food around using a truck. Since they do not have a drop-off place, Deo Dax Sillero Cordova shared they are accepting "in-kind" donations only.
Many people hope that this kind of program will be all over the country to aid these homeless people.
