Actress Sunshine Cruz is the proud mom of three intelligent, beautiful and talented daughters: Angelina (aged 15), Samantha, (aged 12), and Cheska (aged 11).
It’s hard not to be proud of them. After all, each one of her daughters is an honor student at De La Salle Santiago Zobel.
Her secret to raising 3 girls as a single mom: treat them like ‘barkada’.
In a photo shoot with Ever Bilena on January 12, Sunshine was interviewed by a popular news site about her trust in her children.
"I know my kids, I have confidence in them,” the celeb mom says. "And talaga namang masisipag na mga bata 'tsaka masunurin.”
"I know that they’ll grow up to be good people naman because I always talk to them, parang barkada. We’re like barkadas, and I think it's working naman.” Sunshine added.
It may not be long before we see Sunshine’s eldest daughter, Angelina, in showbiz alongside her gorgeous mom. Angelina has already signed a deal with Universal Records and has appeared on the front cover of a magazine. She is managed by Arnold Vegafria.
Sunshine clarified the details in her interview, "Hindi naman maiiwasan talaga na kahit hindi pa siya active gaano sa showbiz, dami na ring followers sa Instagram, and I’m proud to say na may talento naman talaga 'tong mga bata.”
"Nagkataon lang na si Angelina, nandoon na sa stage na, 15, 15 years old na, e. Iyan na yung time na medyo napapansin na ng mga producers or ng mga managers iyan.” She added.
"I spoke to her several times and nagkaroon kami ng deal."
The celebrity mom then revealed that she and Angelina have signed a written "mother-daughter agreement."
Sunshine shared the details of their agreement and stated:
May pirmahan pa kami.
'Angelina, kapag ang pag-aaral mo,' kasi honor student iyan sa La Salle e she’s doing good in school, na sabi ko kapag naapektuhan ang pag-aaral mo, e, kakausapin ko si Arnold and sasabihin ko na itigil na iyan.
So sabi ko, 'Sulat mo, meron tayong kontrata dapat.
So sinulat niya, ‘I, Angelina Isabelle Cruz Montano, promise that my school will be my first priority and will always practice blah blah, yung mga gano'n.
Sabi ko, 'Ipapa-frame ko iyan Angelina.' Sabi ko, 'May pirma iyan.’
Despite the difficulties associated with being a single mom, Sunshine is thankful to god for the treasures that are her daughters.
"Sabi nga nila di ba ang mga single moms daw, iyan ang isa sa mga priorities daw ni God.”
"Of course lahat tayo prayoridad pero may special place daw sa heart ni God lagi ang mga single moms.”
"Siguro nakikita naman ng ating Panginoon yung effort at yung ginagawa ko para mapabuti especially yung buhay ng aking tatlong mga anak.”
"Sabi ko nga, kayamanan ko iyan e. Kayamanan ko sila."
