Exclusive - Coco Martin's Black Nazarene Devotion Shows No Signs Of Stopping!

With the upcoming celebration of the feast of the Black Nazarene on January 9, the Teleserye Prince Coco Martin vows to continue his devotion in Quiapo.

In a news report by ABS-CBN News' Marie Lozano, the ‘Ang Probinsyano’ star is set to continue his 10-year devotion to the Black Nazarene which started in 2007. During the shooting of the film 'Tirador', Coco was fortunate enough to lay his hands on the revered sculpture. Coco shared that, from that point on, he has continued the tradition every year, which he claims has changed his life by granting him numerous blessings.

"Lord bigyan niyo lang ako ng trabaho kahit ano. Kasi that time hindi pa ako artista eh. Kahit ano po 'di ko tatanggihan 'yan basta regular. Tapos mula nung nahawakan ko 'yung Nazareno na 'yon, magmula 'nong araw.na 'yon hanggang ngayon hindi na ako huminto sa pagtatrabaho. Kaya sabi ko nga lagi anong karapatan ko magreklamo." Coco shared during a press conference.

During last year's celebration of the feast of the Black Nazarene, he gave a speech at a program held in Quiapo. The actor never fails to look back at his former life despite his overwhelming success. He also shows his devotion through helping people from different walks of life, including those who are in the showbiz industry.

He also admitted that his colleagues in Philippine showbiz, led by veteran actor Rez Cortez, are encouraging him to run for president of the actors' guild. However, Coco insisted that he is not yet ready for the responsibility.

He will continue to lend a helping hand through his primetime teleserye ‘Ang Probinsyano’, which will start to feature various provinces in the country in the hopes of spreading awareness about these often underexposed places and cultures.
