Exclusive - Empress Admits Her Unexpected Pregnancy Scared Her!

On January 17, actress Empress and her boyfriend Vino Guingona – grandson of former Philippine Vice President Teofisto Guingona, Jr. – were guests in the ABS-CBN morning talk show 'Magandang Buhay.'
During the show’s interview segment, Empress and Vino were asked about their parents’ reactions to the pregnancy.
Empress revealed that there were no plans on keeping the pregnancy a secret, but she was concerned nonetheless.
“Hindi ko naman gusto itago. Yung nangyari hindi ko naman ginusto talaga. Natakot lang talaga ako,” Empress confessed.
When asked if any fears arose from the pregnancy, Empress admitted: "Dumami ung fears ko, masdumami talaga. Baket ko pa dinagdagan mga problema [ko]"
During the pregnancy, Empress took a step back from the spotlight. However, when daughter Athalia was born all of Empress' fears went away.
She says, if given the chance, she would have preferred to have planned for the pregnancy.
Vino also revealed that the pregnancy came at a difficult time for him because his father was diagnosed with cancer during that time. Vino admits that there was tension between the two of them. Despite arguing and ignoring each other for weeks during this trying time, Vino continued to support and care for Empress.
Empress says the experience has made the both of them more positive and mature.
