Babies are blessings from above, so we should take care of them and give them the love that they deserve. However, a cold-hearted mother abandoned her baby on New Year's eve and was luckily found by a boy.
According to 24 Oras' report, the baby was found at Bernabe Compound, Barangay Pulang Lupa, Las Pinas City.
A boy named Dave Batislao told 24 Oras Weekend that he was just about to go out and buy some food around 1 a.m. when he saw the baby in front of their neighbor's gate.
"Parang naiyak na bata, ayun tinawag ko si Kuya ko tapos kumuha ng flashlight tapos flinashlightan namin tapos may baby dun," Batislao told 24 Oras Weekend.
The boys immediately took the poor baby girl home and handed it to their mother Amelia Catapang, who said that the baby has ants all over it. Catapang had no second thoughts on taking care of the baby. She immediately cleaned the baby and fed her. They reported the incident to DSWD and told them to go back on January 3, 2017.
On the other hand, Dolores Bajade, the owner of the house where the baby was found claims that she did not hear any baby crying in front of her house.
Last January 3, 2017, authorities from DSWD in Las Pinas City came over to see where the baby was seen.
