That was the statement made by former ABS-CBN actress Mika Dela Cruz as she shares her experiences in an interview with GMA - her new home.
Mika made the move over to the Kapuso Network after 9 years of being a Star Magic talent. Her new contract at the GMA Artist Center (GMAAC) was signed on November 8th of last year.
Although the actress admits to adjusting to the new environment in GMA, she is excited as she considers this move a fresh start for her career.
"Nakakapanibago lalo na nag-iba 'yung atmosphere ko, nag-iba 'yung workplace, ibang tao 'yung nakakasalamuha ko, bagong lugar, bagong klaseng trabaho, bagong pakikitungo, bagong pakikisama so nag-a-adjust po [ako]." Mika shared.
She wishes to prove something to herself and to her fans with her change in network.
She said, "Feeling ko kailangan kong patunayan 'yung sarili ko ulit kahit nagawa ko na naman siguro sa dami ng nagawa ko roon sa kabila. Siyempre, bago 'to eh."
"Hindi nila (Kapuso viewers) alam kung paano umarte, hindi nila alam kung sino ako bilang tao. Bago eh, hindi nila ako kilala so kailangan ko ulit patunayan [ang] sarili ko so nagsisimula po ulit ako." She added.
The actress says she doesn't feel any pressure at GMA and that she's ready to face the challenges laid before her.
"Wala akong nafi-feel na pressure rito sa GMA kaya nakakatuwa kasi parang kahit kailangan mong patunayan sarili mo, hindi ka mape-pressure. Hindi ka matataranta na magkunwari." She shared.
Oftentimes, both networks poach talent from each other. Mika has denied in an earlier interview that it was her sister, Angelika Dela Cruz, who convinced her to move to GMA. Her reason for the change is because she's getting older, so she's willing to explore other opportunities outside the Kapamilya Network.
