Exclusive - 'It was A Very Weird Break Up.' Ellen Adarna Finally Speaks Up About Dating Baste Duterte!

After months of silence, Ellen Adarna finally spoke about her breakup with the President's,i youngest son, Baste Duterte. In a press con for her forthcoming movie, Moonlight Over Baler, she shared how the two of them have been going out long before the presidential elections last year.

"Ako kasi yung type na ako yung nanliligaw dati. Siya kasi hindi siya based dito, parang nakailang beses na siyang nakapunta hanggang sinabi niya 'Alam mo bang nililigawan kita?' (laugh). Sabi ko, 'Ah ganun ba?' So ayun. Kung bakit naman kami naghiwalay? Amin na lang yun. Baka patayin niya ko," she said.

But in the latter part, she finally opened up about the break up, noting that this wasn't the first time they broke up. They called it quits before Christmas and she shared, "Well actually yung last na talaga, kasi ilang beses na kaming naghiwalay, nung final na madali na, okay lang. Hindi ako na nahirapan. Matagal akong naging hermit before pa si Baste. Mga two years na ayaw kong lumabas, ayaw kong makakita ng tao, ayoko ng tao, ayoko mag-socialize, ganyan,” she stated.

"It was a very weird break up. It's funny. Instead of texting your girlfriend, 'Good Morning!' or ganyan, ganyan, ang text niya, 'Ano na lang kaya kung maghiwalay tayo?' Sabi ko, 'Okay.' And then yun, hindi na kami (nag-usap). Actually hindi ako na-shock,"she added.

She also explained how she tried to conceal the relationship to avoid rumors but to no avail. Despite this, she emphasized that she and Baste remained good friends.

"Dati kasi (quiet ako) para iwas chismis and it's better na parang kami na lang at that time yung may alam and close friends namin para wala masyadong gulo. Officially (we broke up) before Christmas. After New Year we spoke. Kasi ang dami pa niyang gamit sa bahay. Yung surfboard niya nasa bahay. Actually nung pumunta siya sa bahay hindi kami nagkita kasi tulog ako. Late na kasi siya pumunta.

“And then last week lang nagkita kami magkasama with friends. Okay na. Okay na talaga. Friends na lang talaga kami. I've moved on. I've accepted things. For me he's still very young. He still wants to do a lot of things. Nagkakasundo kami pero we have issues. Mabilis ako mag-move on, talent ko yan," she added.

"Oo magkasama kami wala pang one week. We're still really good friends kasi with him, kaming dalawa, we can talk about anything so parang sayang naman na maging bitter kami sa isa't isa. Actually nagkakasundo naman kami ni Baste. He is like my best friend na I can talk to him about anything. He can talk to me about anything also. That's why may time nung naghiwalay kami hindi kami nag-usap kasi of course that's part of the process. You hurt. May grieving period," she added.

Meanwhile, her movie will premiere on February 8, in cinemas nationwide.
