Exclusive - Jolina to Former Love Team Partner Marvin Agustin: 'Bakit Single Ka Pa Rin Hanggang Ngayon?'

Love teams are not a new concept in Philippine showbiz--back in the 90s, we had Claudine and Rico, Judy Ann and Wowie, Angelica and Carlo, and Marvin and Jolina, to name a few. They changed the definition of reel-real romance and had people swooning everywhere with their unforgettable "kilig" moments. 

In January 20's episode of the morning show "Magandang Buhay," one of the hosts, Jolina Magdangal, met her 90s love team partner, Marvin Agustin. The actor-turned-entrepreneur made a guest appearance and had a very engaging conversation with her.  

ABS-CBN Entertainment uploaded a video wherein Jolina said, "Tatanong ko lang kay Marvin, kasi parang ang tagal na Marvs, na single ka," she began. "Ito ba choice mo ba, na single ka?" which elicited cheers from the audience. 

Her former love team partner wasn't able to answer immediately and even asked, "Gaano na ba katagal na naghiwalay tayo?" in all seriousness. 

"Bakit, eh hindi naman naging tayo," was Jolina's quip. Marvin was about to say something when she remarked, "'Wag kang umano diyan ah." 

But she proceeded on asking him about his relationship status, in which Marvin replied that he didn't had a girlfriend yet, not since Jolina have asked him the question. According to him, "Kapag tumatanda ka na kasi, hindi na lang pagmamahal ang kailangan para magtaguyod ng isang relasyon." 

"Trabaho ang relasyon eh," he continued. "Pero 'pag tama 'yung taong kasama mo, kahit mahirap, magiging masarap at magiging masaya. And it takes more than love, but commitment, trust." 

Then Jolina proceeded to asked him about the possibility of meeting someone in the midst of all his business activities, where Marvin answered "'Pag magmamahal ka, mahahanapan mo ng oras 'yan," he said with a smile. 

Back in the day, Marvin and Jolina were paired together and had several projects, including starring in the films "Gimik: The Reunion," "I.T.A.L.Y.," and "Flames: The Movie." Marvin is now managing Sumo Sam and co-owns a restaurant called John and Yoko. He also manages the Cafe Ten Titas restaurant.
