Exclusive - LIFE STORY: Angelica Panganiban to Portray Karla Estrada in Maalaala Mo Kaya!

Karla Estrada's life story will be featured in ABS-CBN's long-running drama anthology "Maalaala Mo Kaya" this Saturday with Angelica Panganiban to portray her.

She confirmed this last Monday to ABS-CBN in a set visit for the shooting of her Cine Mo! show "Funny Ka, Pare Ko."

"Actually himay na himay 'yon kasi kung buong buhay ko ay pelikula 'yan," Estrada said in an interview with ABS-CBN.

The actress-host, also known as the mother of young matinee idol Daniel Padilla, said that Panganiban will portray her and young actress Alexa Ilacad will act as her younger self.

She said that she is thankful that Panganiban will portray her and trusted that she will do the role justice.

"Nung nalaman ko, nakausap ko siya, sobrang nag-thank you ako. Sabi niya excited siyang gawin, kasi lahat nung nabasa niya sa script ay nakukuwento sa kanya ni Daniel nung magkasama sila sa 'Pangako Sa 'Yo,'" Estrada said.

The episode of "Maalaala Mo Kaya" will focus on her life before the glitz and glamour of showbiz and her journey in pursuing her dream to become a singer and actress in the country.

"Yung papakita dito 'yung pangarap kong napaka-imposible pero narating ko. Kasi nung '80s napaka-imposibleng marating ang Maynila sa mga gustong maging artista wala kaming paraan paano," Estrada said.

So, will there be a special spotlight on her love life?

"Basta wala lang love life. 'Di kasama ang aking buhay pag-ibig na masalimuot," Estrada said.
