Just when you thought everyone has already given up on love, a taxi driver reminds everyone that love can still conquer all.
Alakarte Gonzales shared this story yesterday wherein a taxi driver entered the convenience store where he was working at.
It was 5:46 in the morning when the taxi driver came in and asked for an energy drink, a hotdog, and a gift wrapper. He got his order except for a gift wrapper so Gonzales suggested a paper bag.
After eating his hotdog, the taxi driver finally started on his gift by writing a birthday greeting on the greeting card.
"Sir, sino may birthday? Anak mo?" Gonzales asked. "Hindi. [Para sa] asawa ko [ito.]" the taxi driver replied.
The taxi driver then asked for some feedback about his gift to his wife – a dress he bought in Divisoria. He shared his insecurity about the dress being not being from a fancy store.
"Hindi [naman] importante kung saan binili, sir, at kung magkano. [Napakaeffort] mo nga para sa edad mo eh." Gonzales answered.
Let this be a lesson for all of us: it truly is the thought that counts.
