Being the supposed second home for children, schools take it upon themselves to discipline students in their own ways.
Parents entrust their children to schools with the confidence that they are being dealt with in the most reasonable way even when they misbehave.
Although disciplinary actions are expected by parents, some ideas are just totally ridiculous and absurd.
These 10 school punishments are by far the weirdest.
1. Kneeling on Frozen Peas
This sort of punishment is prevalent in Southeast Asian culture. It is typically done at home way back in the day, however some schools have adopted this practice. Experiencing pain on one’s knees due to the long hours of kneeling definitely evokes a deep sense of regret.
2. Holding Hands in Public
Never knew this existed? Well, they say it does. This sort of punishment is usually done to men who just got into a fistfight. Imagine how awkward it would be for a man to hold hands with someone they just punched in the face.
3. Police Escort
Although it has yet to be verified, ‘metahowl’ shared that one poor child had to be escorted by the cops for merely wearing the wrong-colored shoes. If true, then this is definitely overboard.

4. Cone of Shame
The "cone" is typically used on pets to hinder them from scratching their necks. However, it is apparently also used as a form of punishment for unruly students.
5. Eat Food off the floor
A student in New Jersey was forced to eat food off the floor after he spilled his drink and got infuriated. Fortunately, these students filed lawsuits against the professor and eventually won.
6. Fine and Community Service for Self-Defense
Being called to the guidance office for hitting someone back typically happens in high school. However, this student received a $ 300 fine and was forced into community service for 20 hours after defending himself from another student who punched him. Talk about mishandling justice.

7. Paddle
Although this is illegal in many countries and states, one female student experienced this after letting her classmates copy from her work.
8. Haircut
Another unbelievable punishment is being given a haircut against your will. Although this might not be as painful as the other sanctions mentioned above, many still find it disrespectful and abusive.
9. Fake Prom
This student wanted to take her partner to prom but for some reason it was not allowed. So a fake prom was created for the girl, her partner and five other disabled people. It cost the school $35,000.
10. Panties worn down
Some sites claimed that this happened in an all-girls school in Japan. However, many netizens claimed that the photos were edited and that they were meant for a porn site. They also claim that no such punishment actually exists. If it does, it is quite simply absurd and perverse.
