Exclusive - WATCH HERE: Vhong Navarro Gets Emotional Over His Sons' Birthday Messages!

Vhong Navarro, former ‘Streetboys’ member and current mainstay of ABS-CBN's hit noontime show 'It's Showtime', shared his never-before-told story as a 'late bloomer' dad in the morning talk show 'Magandang Buhay'. 

The comedian/host was joined by his teenage sons in the interview. He admitted that he only became close to the two of them once they were already grown up.

"Late bloomer akong naging tatay. So parang masyado na silang malaki, nasa tamang edad na noong naging super close kami." Vhong shared.

"Kasi that time, masyado kong inuna ang trabaho at weekend ko lang sila nakikita that time. Gusto kong may patunayan sa kanila kasi breadwinner ako, marami akong tinutulungan sa pamilya ko. Gusto ko maging proud sila sa akin." He added.

Although Vhong admits he had his shortcomings, he shared that his sons’ mothers were very supportive and understanding of his situation.

"Natutuwa ako sa kung paano sila pinalaki ng kanilang mga nanay at kung paano nila ako inintindi sa mga ginagawa ko," he said.

 "Ang turing ko sa kanila ngayon, 'di lang mga anak kung hindi parang mga kaibigan. Kung aalis ako, kasama ko sila. Gusto ko iparamdam sa kanila na ito 'yung na-miss ko, na 'di ko kayo nakasama noong bata." He added.

During the show, Vhong took the chance to apologize to his sons.

"Gusto kong humingi ng pasensya sa inyo kung naging late bloomer akong tatay. Kumbaga, gusto kong bumawi at ipakita sa inyo na 'yung time na gusto ko kayong makasama, nagtatrabaho rin si Daddy at lahat 'yon ay para sa inyo," he said.

The two did not appear to hold any grudges against their father. In fact, they even said that they are both proud of him.

Vhong could not contain his feelings and got emotional when his sons gave him their birthday messages.

"More careers to come para makamit niya lahat ng dreams niya," Fredriek said.

"Wish ko sayo more shoes to come. Wish ko mabuhay ka ng matagal kasi ayoko talaga makita yung mundo ng wala ka eh," said Yce.

The 'Magandang Buhay' hosts were also touched by the bond that Vhong had with his sons as they wished him a happy birthday.
