People have been going crazy about the latest smartphones. But this one guy is different, and he went viral for bragging about his almost-antique phone, Nokia 3310.
40-year-old Dave Mitchell said he has been receiving insults from his friends because of his old-fashioned phone. But he had something to say to his bashers.
“A lot of people laugh at me but when push comes to shove their phones break much more easily. I try not to look too smug when I see someone with a cracked screen,” he said.
He claimed that his phone withstood not just the test of time, but a number of wars as well. It has been his phone when he was on duty in Iraq, Afghanistan, Jordan and Germany. But not just that! The phone survived after being dipped in a curry sauce, thrown and stepped on and even after being accidentally dropped into the washing machine!
“I was given a newer phone with internet access by my son a few years ago but I just didn’t want it – my needs are very basic and the phone has a calculator and games like Snake 2 if I’m bored,” he shared.
Furthermore, he only needs to charge it once a week. The only downside he can think of is the fact that he is actually paying for the data plan. Unfortunately, his country only offers mobile packages with data. But other than that, he is quite satisfied with his mobile.
