Miss Universe Thailand Chalita Suansan arrived at the Philippines with only 1 small luggage, a far cry from her pageant baggage.
The beauty queen is in the country as a tourism ambassador for Thailand. She attended the travel expo held at SMX Convention Center in Pasay City where she met with her Filipino fans.
"I feel so lucky and so happy to be here and meet all my fans. I love everyone," she told ABS-CBN News correspondent MJ Felipe.
Chalita was first adored by the Filipinos during the Miss Universe 2016 pageant at the Mall of Asia Arena last January, where she was declared as an early favorite.
The 22-year-old Thai model revealed that she's very interested to enter Philipppine show business.
"I am open to the chances or the opportunity to go into show business.
"I think that it's a very challenging career if you give me a good chance to learn something or get new experience from this business."
Knowing that former Miss Universe title holder Dayanara Torres stayed in the Philippines for four years after the Miss Universe pageant in the 90's, Filipinos are curious if Chalita could possibly be open to do the same.
She said, "Of course, that will be beyond expectation, but anyway because I believe I can also be Filipino according to my smile and my friendly [personality], and talent or skill in acting."
"If there is a chance to work here or do something here for showbiz, that would be good and challenging for me."
Like most fangirls in the country, Chalita shared that she's also attracted to Thai star Mario Maurer, who also gained popularity for his viral movie Crazy Little Thing Called Love (2010) and his appearance in Star Cinema's Suddenly It's Magic (2012) with Erich Gonzales.
"Mario Maurer is my favorite star in Thailand."
"I used to work in the airport when I was younger and Mario Maurer is always travelling overseas and I met him that time. I was so excited to meet him," she confessed.
Meanwhile, before Chalita flew in the Philippines, she learned about the fire in Tondo that left 15,000 homeless. She hopes that despite her busy schedule as reigning Miss Universe Thailand and as tourism ambassador, she'll still be able to visit the victims.
"Right now, I still have a plan in mind to visit these victims in person if I can make it.
"I'm sure that in the future, I will come back to the Philippines again to do it but this time because it's just the first few weeks after the contest, my schedule is a bit busy this time."
"But of course, when I have the opportunity, I'll come back to fulfill my intentions, for sure."
Chalita gave words of encouragement through her Facebook post last Friday, February 10.
