Exclusive - This Nurse Fell Asleep in a Salon Chair and You Wouldn’t Believe What the Stylist Did to Her!

One of the most brutal professions, no matter how big it pays, is the medical profession where nurses, doctors, and paramedics spend much of their time serving people in the hospital in long, unforgiving hours.

These professionals are on duty even during the holidays, so it’s not an easy feat for them to be able to work while their families enjoy themselves. 

In our country, there is a high demand for nurses and doctors, although many graduates of medicine-related courses work in other countries in order to get a higher income. 

This makes most of the Philippine hospitals understaffed and the medical professionals, extremely overworked. 

However, in a report by Little Things, one salon stylist was able to show her appreciation for these people who work so hard just to save lives. 

Ashley Bolling is a mother of three who works in Captivate Salon & Spa, where she encountered a nurse who fell asleep in one of the chairs. 

According to Bolling, the woman wasn’t able to sleep the night before and was evidently exhausted.

This is what Bolling posted on her Facebook account (along with Bolling’s pictures): 

“I had one of those “stop-you-in-your-tracks,” extremely humbling moments, while working quietly on the hair of a very exhausted, sleeping nurse.” 

“She’d been at work all night and hadn’t been to bed when she landed in my chair, but not before stopping to buy my breakfast on her way.”

“As she dozed off, I gently rested her head on my stomach and continued to foil her hair…. then I noticed her shoes.”

She continued, “I wondered how many miles those shoes have walked. I wondered what they’d walked through. Blood? Tears? In & out of the countless rooms of the patients she’s cared for?” 

“ I wondered how many hours they’ve carried her, and all those like her, while they literally save the lives of those we love and hold the hands of the ones who can no longer fight that fight.” 

“But with those shoes propped up in that chair, phone in her lap, I got the chance to take care of her (even if it was just for a few hours) and I felt extremely honored to take care of such a hard working, inspiring woman I’m so lucky to call my friend.”

“I’ve always respected and valued these amazing superheroes and am proud to be the sister, daughter, niece, friend and hairstylist of so many. Know you are appreciated, know you are irreplaceable, know you are loved!” 

According to Bolling, it would be very much appreciated if people shared her post so that nurses and medical professionals would feel loved despite working long hours and sleepless nights.
