Viral Now - 3 Key Things to Note if You Are Planning to Host a Super bowl Party
A Super Bowl party – nothing out of the ordinary, right? It’ll be just you and a bunch of your friends watching the Super Bowl on TiVo or streaming live on the big screen. There’ll be food, laughs, and in-house commentary – pretty harmless.
But what if your “perfect Super Bowl party” metamorphoses into something chaotic? The Super Bowl is one of the most watched events on television, with 11.2 million viewers for the 2016 SuperBowl 50. Every year millions of people gather to watch American football at its best.
In 2016, America witnessed the Denver Broncos’ victory over the Panthers at Levi Stadium Santa Clara, California, making it their third win and eighth appearance in the Super Bowl. As the world eagerly waits for this year’s Super Bowl on February 5, 2017, predictions about who’ll be the next champions are already in circulation. There seems to be a bright light ahead for the Packers in the upcoming Super Bowl with their 31-14 win in December. But all we can do is wait and see.
Since there are just a few days until the SuperBowl, it’s a good time to start making plans for a Super Bowl party. Watching the match on your own is cool, but there’s nothing as exciting and entertaining as enjoying the game with others.
But take note, not everything turns out according to plan. To give you a heads up, here are 3 points you must look into if you’re planning to host a Super Bowl party.
1. Should I Supply The Booze?
That’s a big question in Super Bowl parties. Super Bowl parties are usually informal, laid back, and loads of fun. But would having a 6-pack hurt? Or how about something stronger?
There’s no problem with having some drinks available for everyone at the party. It’ll help lighten the mood. The problem is when you bring in drinks that are high in alcohol. If you’re thinking of putting Vodka, Scotch, or Tequila on the table, you need to be extremely cautious.
You can’t tell how many glasses your guests may drink, especially when the match doesn’t turn out as expected. You can’t entirely overrule the possibility of having a drunk in your midst either. That can ruin the whole party.
Game Plan #1
Keep the booze in moderation. Start off with a 6-pack and make sure you keep an eye on all your guests. If you see someone getting tipsy, then you need to stop serving them drinks. As for the Vodka, Scotch, or Tequila, maybe you should save them for after the match to celebrate a win.
2. The Girl (Or Guy) Who Doesn’t Have A Clue About Football
You should watch out for those who don’t know anything about football in the next Super Bowl. Of course, it’s good to have more people at the party, but the main aim of having a Super Bowl party is to watch and enjoy the Super Bowl.
For those who don’t have an idea of the way football is played, they might not enjoy the vibe, and their constant questions about the rules and what the players are doing can make a game go sour for those that do. For some, watching American football is serious business.
Game Plan #2
Invite only friends who love football as much as you do. If they want to ask someone to join the party, make sure that your friend knows the whole purpose of the Super Bowl party. For those that don’t like or know much about football, you should come up with a “party within the party” of their own so that everyone is happy, and no one feels unwelcome.
3. When The Match Turns Into A Disaster
You can never predict the outcome of the game no matter how long you study the match, or know the strengths of the players or their track records. This can take a serious toll on your guests, especially when you and all (or most of your guests) support the same team.
A bad game can lead to arguments, shouting, or give a reason for everyone to drink away the disappointment. Sometimes people can get violent. That’s why you need to make sure you’re in control of the party when things get out of hand.
Game Plan #3
Have a Plan B when the match goes sour. Choose a beautiful movie from Netflix to take everyone’s mind off the bad match. That will help lighten the mood.
Some practical advice right? Now let’s go party!
