Exclusive - The Only Japanese Survivor Of Titanic Was Called A Coward For Not Dying! Why? Find Out Here!

Masabumi Hosono, 42 at that time, was the only Japanese survivor of the tragic Titanic incident. He was a civil servant in the Japanese Ministry of Transport who traveled to London where he boarded the Titanic on April 10, 1912, without knowing what was about to go down.

On the night of April 14, Hank was sleeping soundly in his compartment when he was awakened by a steward who informed him that the ship is sinking. He scrambled to his feet and managed to get up to see the lifeboats diminishing one by one.

He thought that he's going to die at that very moment. That was when he heard an officer scream that there is "Room for two more!" in the lifeboat.

Hank saw a man jump into the boat and it urged him to do so as well.

Together with other passengers, Hank survived the tragedy. However, when he returned to Japan, he faced struggles when the media started criticizing him for "being a coward." This is because he allegedly chose to save himself, rather than save the others.

Because of this "shame", Hank was fired from his job and was ostracized by society.

Even his innocent family lived in shame. Still, Hank worked at the Ministry until the day he died.

It was only until the movie 'Titanic' featuring Leonardo DiCaprio was released that the general people finally understood Hank's situation. It is no shame to choose to save yourself in the face of imminent danger.
