After keeping to himself for 40 years, 56-year-old Fulvia Pellegrino went through a series of arduous surgeries to achieve the 'perfect female body'. Reportedly Pellegrino had over 150 lip and cheekbone fillers, two liposuction and about four breast implants.

Born as Fulvio, the transgender woman had his wife, Marisa's, full support, says Daily Mail.

At the age of 15, Fulvia already knew she wanted to be a trans. However, she kept to herself knowing her father, who was in the clergy, and her religious family would never accept her.

"I was living with my family who were very narrow minded and very religious. I never manifested my will because it was impossible with my dad. He had three sons and he wanted three sons only," she said.

32 years ago, when she met her wife Marisa, she continued to hide the secret. However, he frequently goes to gay bars in secret and cross-dressed in her garage. She hid her distress and masked her secret with masculinity by buying firearms and luxurious cars.

But 16 years ago, Fulvia finally gained the courage to admit his desire to undergo a transition.

"Obviously Marisa lost it for a moment, it is not something that is easy to accept. Today Marisa and I are nothing more than two sisters. We live together, we argue like two normal people but not like husband and wife."

Fulvia began with hormone therapy while she researched plastic surgery. All throughout, Marisa had been supportive. Her wife even went to a psychologist for her in order to have support in dealing with the changes. However, her parents were not as supportive or even tolerant. Ashamed of what she was, her family prohibited her from attending her father's funeral.

"My dad asked my wife to sign a paper to send me into a psychiatric institution to make me change my mind," he admitted.

But despite this, Fulvia wholeheartedly decided to chase her dream of having the 'perfect' female body through a series of surgeries in 2004 including face lift, nose job and breast implants. Although in the process, her restaurant went into bankrupcy and in order to sustain her desire for expensive procedures, she sold her cars, guns and a house in France.

Now, Marisa's income as a holistic therapist is the only thing supporting their finances. And although Marisa had been supportive of his dream, people from their town, Peveragno, have intentionally excluded them.

"I am now the clown of Peveragno. They point at me, they talk about me, they start inventing stories about me, that I am a prostitute. My friends have all vanished – they didn't accept me," he shared.

"I couldn't be without Marisa and do what I do without her. She is always here with me."

For Fulvia, the hardships are not an enough reason to stop her from carrying out her dream. She said, "I want to look like Allanah Starr, an American transgender porn star."

"I won't stop here, I want to go ahead because it's not perfect. If I reach perfection maybe I will stop."
