A young boy from Ifugao had netizens holding their breaths after his equally fascinating yet heart-stopping video made rounds online.
In the video posted by Proud Pinoy, the boy waited in patience as he tried distracting the snake to find the right timing to grab it by its head. The one-minute video showed the boy struggling in its battle with the snake due to its quick reflexes.
Reportedly, the boy came from the Ifugao province. However, there is no strong evidence that this is true.
After his long wait, the boy was able to catch the reptile off guard. Through his proper distance, arm placement and body movements, he was finally able to grab it by its head and render the snake helpless.
Although many netizens were amazed by the child's patience, right timing and great accuracy, some argued that a young child should not even be allowed to come near a snake, let alone touch it.
"Don't do it again, your life is at risk," warned netizen Jonathan Asis.
"Saludo ako sayo boy pero next time ingat ka," commented another netizen named Yel SJ.
Cobras are among the most venomous snake. According to experts, a single bite of a cobra carries about 200-500 mg of venom. A cobra bite can cause an adult man to suffer pain, vertigo, kidney failure, respiratory failure, comatose, paralysis and worse death.
Many netizens hoped that despite his learned skill, the child will avoid going near a snake again for his own safety.
"Makapigil hininga. Huwag mo nang uulitin yan," another unnamed netizen commented.
However, others suggested that the fangs of the cobra may have been removed before the encounter.
